Tanger - Tanger - Hotels in Tanger
Le Royal El Minzah by BlueBay is one of the most emblematic and most traditional hotels of all North Africa. It opened its doors to the public in 1930 under the direction of a known English aristocrat who, over a few years time, turned it into a landmark and a must for big showbiz personalities and important political leaders. Located in the popular Rue de la Liberté, in the heart of Tangier, this property has a strong character in its architecture and decoration that provide it with its own character and soul.
Luxury is one of the main virtues of this hotel nestled in the heart of all the hustle and bustle of the city. It is located right at the intersection of two very different worlds: the old city and its Medina, and the most modern shopping area. This makes it the perfect headquarters, whether you visit Tangier for leisure or business.
The figure of El Minzah stands out for its majesty thanks to the mix of Hispanic and Moorish styles in architecture and decoration, in addition to its international reputation it gained over the last century. Important figures of classic Hollywood, such as Rita Hayworth and Rex Harrison, more contemporary film stars, like Jean Claude Van Damme, or such figures as the legendary French explorer Jacques Cousteau, made this hotel their home during their visits to the Alawite kingdom.
After passing through the legendary gate, guests can enjoy the light and the iconic charm brought by its emblematic Andalusian patio, the heart of the hotel, full of majestic fountains and gardens. Among the latter we should highlight the Misbah Club, in the pool, the trees of which, along with its Mediterranean vegetation, are over a century old.
This luxury hotel offers 140 newly renovated rooms with sophisticated decor with Arabic motifs and all the comforts of a five star establishment (wooden floors, flat screen TV, mini bar, Wi-Fi ...). Its 17 suites have been expanded and equipped with balconies and terraces with superb views of the resort grounds, the pool, the Bay of Tangier, the beach and the Strait of Gibraltar.

Tangier is a perfect mix between the perception of life in North Africa, southern Spain and aspects of the French character. It is one of the most fascinating Moroccan cities as it retains its tradition, exoticism and Arab idiosyncrasy, alongside modernity and cosmopolitan character given to it by its privileged location as Europe's southern door. The city has a population of around one million inhabitants and it is situated in the Tangier-Tetouan region.
Tangier is the Moroccan capital of the Strait of Gibraltar and the largest city in North Africa. Its geographical location places it at the western end of the bay that bears its name, on the coast of the strait. By business volume and strategic importance it is the second economic center of Morocco after Casablanca. Its commercial heart beats in the great port of Med and it keeps on increasing its industrial importance, diversifying into sectors such as the textile, chemical, mechanical, automobile metallurgical and naval.
In the cultural field the city is taking on increasing importance in the country, becoming a center for major events. Among them stand out the Moroccan Film Festival, the Tanjazz, dedicated to Jazz music and the Latin American Tanja, held in the multipurpose Moulay Hafid palace. Also featured are other events such as the Twiza Summer Cultural Festival of Berber music, where you can listen to and enjoy performances of the Aita Jebali, a style of music and dance originated in the mountains of northern Morocco in the eighteenth century.
Despite its large industrial and commercial activity, Tangiers is an eminently tourist city with a great variety of places to visit and a cuisine worth tasting. Tourism development here is so remarkable that it annually hosts the Tangier Tourism Expo, the largest tourism fair in the African continent.
