BlueBay Hotels, the eighth hotel company by international presence and the 11th largest Spanish hotel group regarding hotel rooms , enters the Italian market with the management of a four-star hotel in Perugia. The Spanish company continues with its 2017-2020 strategic plan which aims to increase the group’s offering by close to 50% and have more than 60 hotels in 30 destinations with more than 50,000 beds by the end of 2020. This will include hotels owned by the company and others other its management.
“BlueBay Perugia means BlueBay Hotels is entering in Italy with a premium product in a privileged area in the wellness holiday segment and a market we consider to be more than desirable due to its extensive tradition of tourism and as such, we don’t rule out the possibility of extending our presence there in the future”, explains Jamal Satli Iglesias, Chairman of BlueBay Hotels. “It also allows us to continue consolidating our presence in Europe where we now have 24 hotels,” adds Satli Iglesias.
BlueBay Hotels will take over the hotel on December 1st and plans to invest in the region of €1.5M in renovating the hotel. Renovation work will begin in early 2017 and is expected to last about six months. It will include work on the rooms and also substantial improvements to the wellness area. The work will be carried out in phases so as not to affect the customers’ daily routines.
