BlueBay Hotels strengthens its presence in Latin America with its first hotel in Bolivia

With the addition of this establishment, BlueBay Hotels extends its presence in the region where it already has nine other hotels in four countries. BlueBay Hotels is the first Spanish hotel chain to enter in the Bolivian market that has witnessed important economic growth in recent years. The Hotel Eden by BlueBay has 34 rooms, a historical implantation in the region and its facade is one of the city's emblems and part of Oruro's heritage.

By entering in Bolivia, BlueBay Hotels is strengthening its presence in Latin America where it currently has eight hotels: four in Mexico, two in Cuba, two in the Dominican Republic and one in Panama. Ramón Hernández, BlueBay Hotels CEO explained "Latin America is a priority for us in our strategic expansion plan. By arriving in Bolivia, in addition to strengthening our position in the region, which has been focused on sun and beach tourism until now with our hotels In Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and soon Colombia, we're also able to diversify with urban, cultural and nature tourism."

The Hotel Eden by BlueBay five-star hotel is part of BlueBay Hotels' 2017-2020 strategic plan, with which in addition to promoting the group's internationalisation, also aims to increase its offering by close to 50%, have 60 hotels in 30 different destinations and manage more than 50,000 beds.

The Hotel Eden by BlueBay is deeply rooted in the history of the city of Oruro, having been traditionally linked to the social and business circles in the region, and the hotel's facade is considered one of the most emblematic buildings in the city and declared part of Oruro's heritage.

The hotel has 34 rooms in total, with singles, doubles, and suites all available. The Solarium restaurant is one of its major draws, but it also has sports and relaxation areas, a gym, a spa, a whirlpool, sauna, movie theatre, and an indoor pool.

Oruro, one of the highest cities in the world

It is the capital of the department of Oruro in Bolivia and considered one of the highest cities in the world at 3735 metres above sea level. The city's tourist appeal makes it a popular destination in South America, with highlights like the Carnival of Oruro, which was declared a UNESCO Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2001, the thermal spas in Obrajes and Capachos, the Coipasa volcanic lake, and the Sajama Volcano, which is the highest peak in Bolivia at 6542 metres.
