Top attractions for children in Marbella

The town has a wide variety of playgrounds with free access, many of them on the beach. There are also many private playgrounds in contact with nature or that encourage sporting activities.

We are used to reading a lot about Marbella’s beautiful beaches, its nightlife and its glamorous social life, but let’s face it, when travelling with the family, they are the ones in charge. Those crazy little kids we call them. If you are thinking of visiting the Costasoleña city you will have to look for options for the little ones to have fun and in Marbella you have it very easy.

Let’s take a look at some options:

-Parks on the beach

Marbella has many playgrounds installed directly on the sand and which can be enjoyed all year round.  Most of them are located on the beaches in the centre, two of the best known are on the beach of La Venús, Playa Del Faro and Playa de Puerto Banús. They are also located next to the beach bars so you can enjoy a coffee while they play.

-Playgrounds in the neighbourhoods and the city centre

The city has children’s playgrounds scattered all over the municipality and practically every neighbourhood has one. The most complete (including zip wires, bars, swings and slides of various types…) can be found in the Parque de la Constitución (a natural lung in the city centre), the Parque Maria Auxiliadora (where there is also a funny colony of rabbits and ducks), the Parque de El Capricho (with artificial rivers and a pond), the Parque de la Represa (with a bicycle lane, ample space for running, bars, skateboarding area…), in the area of La Fontana, in the area of La Fontana and in the area of La Fontana (where there is a large park for children…). ), in the area of La Fontanilla and above the Marina (just above a lively area of bars and terraces).

-Inflatable and other adventures

In addition to the municipal parks, there are other privately run parks. Right in the centre, under the Avenida del Mar is Pirates’ Park, a park with bouncy castles, trampolines and ball pools which also has a large seating area and tables for parents and a bar.

Close to the Fishing Port area is Monkey Park, another area with ball parks, slides and various games, where birthdays and children’s parties are also held.

-For the more daring ones

If your children need more than just a bouncy castle and prefer adventures in nature, they also have many options.

In the centre of the city is the Parque Vigil de Quiñones, a large expanse of woodland with barbecues and benches, which also has a bar. A perfect place to let them go at their own pace without fear of the road and where they can bring their own picnic.

In the San Pedro Alcántara area is the Parque Forestal de los Tres Jardines. A huge green area with picnic and barbecue area, ample parking, swings and playgrounds, zip line, a lake with ducks and a dog area. Perfect for spending the whole day.

Another natural park in the city is Nagüeles, the area par excellence for family picnics, barbecues… it has multiple swings and slides, an adventure fort (privately run) and plenty of space for them to play.

Needless to say, if you visit the city in summer, the little ones will especially enjoy the beaches and swimming pools.

Both can be enjoyed by staying at BlueBay Banús ****, with several swimming pools set in lush tropical gardens and just a few metres from the beach in Puerto Banús. An ideal location to enjoy all sides of Marbella and experience the city as it deserves.
